This morning, shortly before 02:00, Dauphin County alerted Co. 88 to the intersection of Main Street and North Union Street for an MVA with injuries. Engine 88-1(Lt. Menear) responded and upon arrival found numerous Police units on scene with two vehicles involved. Lt. Menear held the box to the Engine shortly after arrival after the crew investigated and found one patient/suspect in Police custody while MICU 4-1(UHEMS) checked on the occupants of both vehicles involved. The Engine crew secured both vehicles and cleaned up debris. The accident was caused by a high speed pursuit which began in Highspire and ended in the borough when the suspect struck the other vehicle in the intersection. After the collision, the suspect bailed out of his vehicle on foot and was quickly apprehended by officers. The Engine remained on scene for just under and hour.
