PALMYRA FIRE BANQUET
Saturday, January 13, 2007
This afternoon around 16:00, a crew of six guys headed to Palmyra Fire Station 1 to cover our brothers’ first due while they enjoyed their annual appreciation banquet. Once the crew arrived at Station 1, the 88 crew and a crew from Linglestown Fire Co.(35) split up the riding assignments between Wagon 1 and Engine 1-1. The 88 crew then re-familiarized themselves with their assigned units. Shortly before 17:30 the crews loaded up and headed to the Campbelltown Fire Co. for the banquet dinner and awards. Shortly after the crew began eating dinner, Standby crews were alerted to North Railroad Street in Palmyra for an MVA with injuries. Chief 1(Dugan), Engine 1-1(Capt. Coble), Wagon 1(FF Grady-35), and SOC 1(Lt. Hoffman-35 and FF J. Coe-35) responded. Upon arrival crews found a minor two vehicle accident and performed basic MVA ops. Crews cleared the scene within 30 minutes and returned to the banquet to finish dinner and just in time for the awards ceremony. After the awards were given out, the standby crews returned to Station 1. Shortly after arriving back at Station 1, the standby crews received a visit from some ladies having a party in Station 1’s social hall. After a brief photo shoot, the standby crews’ went back to the pot stirring task that are normally done while at Palmyra. Crews remained on standby until about 07:30 the next morning with no further runs. |
