Shortly after lunchtime today, Rescue 88, along with MICU 7-3(South Central EMS) was dispatched to Aspen Street in the 88-2 box for an extremity rescue. Chief 88-1(D/C Whitebread, Sr.) responded within seconds and was advised of a child stuck in a recliner chair. Rescue 88(Capt. Coble) responded shortly after the D/C and arrived on scene with MICU 7-3 within minutes. Upon arrival of the D/C, he found the scene to be as reported by County. Rescue 88 and MICU 7-3 then arrived and the Rescue crew quickly disassembled the recliner, freeing the child withing two minutes after arrival. Rescue 88 and the D/C then cleared the incident with the patient in the care of MICU 7-3.
