BAD WEATHER BRINGS A BUSY DAY TO THE MVFD |
| Wednesday, February 14, 2007
Today, while Chief 88 (Scheetz) was heading to the station, he was flagged over by some kids. When the chief went to see what was wrong, the kids told him that their pet rabbit had gotten out the night before and was now found underneath a car, Since the rabbit couldn’t get out due to the snow the chief called the county and had them dispatch Rescue 88 to assist in the extercation. Upon the Rescue crew arriving, they grabbed shovel and began to dig. With some laughs provided by Lt-1 (Molchany) the rascally rabbit was captured!
Right after the Rescue cleared the bunny rescue they were dispatched to Box 54-7 for a roof collapse. Rescue 88 (Ch. Scheetz) responded seconds after dispatched and were told that the roof was collapsing and they could here the roof breaking in the background. Upon arrival Ch. Scheetz established command while the rescue crew went to investigate. The crew found the resident still to be inside gathering up some belongings, she was then assisted out of the home. The rescue crew then secured the utilities. Whith no further services needed Rescue 88 returned to the boro.
Company 88 handled 5 more calls today, including 3 automatic fire alarms, 1 accident. |
