Crews respond to reported structure fire on Hill Island |
| Friday, April 20, 2007
This evening, Dauphin County alerted Engine 88 and Boat 88 to assist Company 54 for a reported structure fire on Hill Island. Engine 88 (Chief Scheetz) responded quickly with a crew of 5 shortly followed by Special Unit and Boat 88 (Capt. Whitebread, Jr.) with a crew of 5. Upon the response of the Engine, Dauphin County advised of a call from York County reporting an explosion and fire on the island. Engine 88 arrived at the Tri-County Boat Club with a column from the southern end of the island visible. SU and Boat 88 then arrived at the boat club with Boat 54. Boat 54 was launched with Boat 88 being launched shortly after. Boat 54 arrived at Hill Island just ahead of Boat 88 and found a large controlled burn on the York County side of the island. The boats then returned to the boat club and the box was placed in service. |
