This afternoon, just before 15:00 hours, Rescue 88 was dispatched to Box 456-1 (Chambers Hill), 4651 Lindle Road at the Holiday Inn East to assist as RIT on a structure fire. Rescue 88 (Capt. Whitebread) responded quickly with a crew of five. Upon arrival, the Rescue crew set up as RIT with Squad 8 (Lt. Clark). With the Rescue crew as RIT, interior crews were having difficulty with accessing the fire in the large basement of the hotel. Control was marked at 16:50 hours and the Rescue was released by Command 456 at 17:02. Shortly after the Rescue returned to Station 2, County dispatched Engine 88 to the 59-5 Box on PA 283 Eastbound at the Airport Connector for a motorcycle accident. Engine 88 (Chief Scheetz) responded with six and upon arrival assisted Company 59 crews with patient care and basic vehicle accident operations. The Engine was out for about an hour.
