This afternoon, Box 88-3 was toned out for a reported house fire at 329 South Catherine Street. Engine 88(Capt. Fink) responded with 4 personnel and was advised that the caller reported having grease on the stove before stepping out of the house for a minute, then heard a loud "boom" and now has heavy smoke coming from the house. Engine 88 arrived, securing a water supply and confirming a working fire on Division 1 of a 3 story residential structure. As Capt. Fink established the 88 Command, the Engine crew pulled a line and entered the building finding a well involved kitchen fire with extension. As additional units arrived, they were assigned to other tasks accordingly. and the fire was soon placed under control. Command then began releasing units as FM 88-1(Cleland) completed the investigation. |
