| LONDONDERRY MOBILE HOME FIRE |
| Wed, Jan 20th, 2010 9:01:00 pm
This evening, shortly before 17:00, Engine and Truck 88 were dispatched on the 54-3 box, to the Pine Manor Mobile Home Park, for a trailer fire. Engine 88(Capt. Coble) and Truck 88(FF Myers) responded with four personnel each and while enroute, County advised of multiple calls reporting a working fire. The Engine and Truck arrived shortly behind Engine 54, finding the underside of the trailer to be involved, while Engine 54's crew searched the interior for the fire. The Engine and Truck crews immediately began pulling the skirting from the trailer to expose the fire, while FF Krupilis deployed a second line off Engine 54. Once the skirting was removed, extinguishment was started while Engine 54's crew exited, reporting no fire conditions inside. Both Engine crews then worked to extinguish the fire while FF Matson removed the residents' dog from under a bed. As the nozzlemen were soaking down the underside of the trailer, FF Krupilis got a surprise when a stray cat peeked at him from behind some burning insulation. FF Krupilis immediately removed the feline from danger, looking like a snowball due to being covered in foam. Control was quickly marked and crews remained on scene for a short while longer, assisting with mop up |
