This afternoon, county dispatched Rescue 88 to assist station 7-4 on a structure fire. Shortly after dispatched Rescue 88 (Capt. Whitebread) went enroute. While responding, Engine 88-1 was also dispatched to assist on the fire. While enroute Command 7-4 ordered all crews to evacuate the structure. Upon Rescue 88 arriving, the crew split up with half setting up RIT and the other half taking the rest of the windows and setting up PPV. Upon Engine 88-1 arriving the engine crew assisted with manpower for the RIT team, while crews worked on extinguishment. Crews then began to advance back into the building to get control. Upon Command 7-4 marking control, Engine 88-1 was placed in service, while Rescue 88 remained on scene until the crews were done inside. The 88 crew was out for about 2 Hrs. |

This Morning Rescue 88 was dispatched to assist Lancaster County Station 7-4 on a structure fire. Rescue 88(Ch. Scheetz) and a crew of 5 men were in the street within minutes. While enroute Engine 7-4-2 went on the scene with a working fire, Rescue 88 arrived with the crews splitting up, to ladder the structure, set up RIT and to remove a fence, During this time, Command 7-4 requested a 2nd alarm, bringing Truck 88. Truck 88 (FF Fallinger) also with 5 men responded right after dispatch. Upon Truck 88 arriving, the Truck crew was assigned to utility control, and overhaul to the fire building. With the event winding down Truck 88 relocated to station 7-4 to stand by, while Rescue 88 returned. Crews were out for about 3.5 hours. |

This morning, Rescue 88 was dispatched to Londonderry Twp, to assist Company 54 on an accident with possible entrapment. Rescue 88(LT. Eppinger) and a crew of 5 men were enroute within minutes. While responding County advised the Rescue, per Capt 54-1, it would be a passenger side door pop. Upon arrival Rescue 88 and Company 54 extricated the pt through the passenger side door and assisted with pt packaging. Crews were out for about 1 hour. |

This morning, Just before 7:00 am. County dispatched Truck 88 and Engine 88 to Lower Swatara Twp. for a structure fire. Engine 88(Capt Coble) and Truck 88(Capt Fink) responded within minutes with a crew of 10 men. Engine 88 arrived and the crew took a line inside to get a knock on the fire. Upon Truck 88 arriving and the crew began to ladder the house while venting the structure. The engine crew was met by a heavy fire in the kitchen and in the loft area of the house. Crews also performed a search and found nobody else in the house. with the fire knocked down, crews stood by and waited for the fire marshal. Command held the box to Company 59 to assist the fire marshal. The 88 crew was out for about 2 1/2 Hrs. |

Today to start off the morning, Company 88 was dispatched for a single engine response to the Middletown Police Station for smoke in the building, Right after that engine was hit out, the truck was dispatched to assist EMS with an extrication out of a 3rd story window. Engine 88(Capt Whitebread) with a crew of 3 responded to the police station, while Truck 88(FF Fink) with a crew of 5 responded to the med assist along with D/C Whitebread. Engine 88 arrived and was advised that the smoke had been coming from a new exhaust pipe that had been installed on a generator in the basement. After a quick investigation, Capt Whitebread placed the box in service and the Engine crew responded to assist the Truck. While half of the 88 crew setup the truck and went to the window, the other half assisted EMS with patient care. The crew removed the patient from the house and the box was placed in service. Once the crew came back to the station, the Truck was dispatched to Lower Swatara for a fire alarm. And this evening, Rescue 88 ran 3 medical assists. |

Tonight the Middletown Volunteer Fire Dept. hosted it's first annual comedy night. With the Auxiliary hard at work in the kitchen, and the 88 crew selling shirts, 50/50, and tending bar, (while also staffing the Engine and Truck) The night was a huge success! On behalf of the Middletown Fire Dept and Auxiliary, we would like to thank everyone that came out to support us, and we hope to see you again. |

This Morning, Truck and Rescue 88 were hit out to assist Lancaster County station 7-4 on a gas leak. Rescue 88 (Capt Whitebread) responded shortly after dispatch with a crew of 5 men, while Truck 88 (Capt Fink) responded with a crew of 4. Units arrived on scene and were advised to stage and hold their manpower. Upon the E-town crew discovering an active gas leak, the Rescue crew established RIT, until the leak was contained. After Command 7-4 marked control, the Rescue and Truck were released. Crews were out for about 1 Hr. |
